Redmond motorcyclist dies in crash A Redmond motorcyclist died Wednes- day night after crashing into an SUV near Tumalo. Quinn Chastain, 30, died at the scene. According to police, Chastain was rid- ing northbound about 8 p.m. near 94th Street on the Old Bend Redmond High- way. Investigators determined he was trav- eling “at a high rate of speed and passing in designated no passing zones” when he struck a Lexus SUV that was pulling onto the highway from a driveway. According to crash investigators from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police, the SUV driver did not see the motorcycle. The SUV driver remained on scene and was cooperative, according to police. Old Bend Redmond Highway was closed for almost five hours while the crash was being investigated.
