Friends searching for Mary Chris- tina Barry, 44, of Portland and for- merly of Redmond, discovered tracks leading off U.S. Highway 26 near mile post 110. They saw what looked like her car at the bottom of a 600-foot cliff and called 911. Oregon State Police responded along with a rope team from Jefferson County Fire District. Crews recovered Barry’s body. Ira’s Towing retrieved her car, a silver 2018 Nissan Versa. Barry formerly lived in Redmond. She was on her way to visit her adult sons in Redmond. Their last contact with her was by phone Monday night, March 21, when Barry said she was approaching Warm Springs. Portland Police took a missing per- sons report Wednesday, listing Barry as missing and endangered. Jefferson County Emergency Medi- cal Services and Crooked River Ranch Fire and Rescue also aided in the re- covery. Redmond man accused of stealing $20K in drywall PET OF THE WEEK Bulletin staff report Police say a Redmond dry- wall installer stole more than $20,000 in property from a Sunriver second home under- going a remodel. Jason Lynn Johnson, 43, was arraigned Friday in Deschutes County Circuit Court on al- legations he pawned 51 items at four Central Oregon pawn shops. The stolen items included a Ring doorbell system, moun- tain bike, hiking equipment, knives, tools and others, ac- cording to court documents. The victim, Tony Rhodes, is a full-time resident of Wil- sonville currently renovating a home he owns on Cherrywood Lane. Rhodes discovered the theft upon returning to the house March 7. Police believe the theft occurred sometime in early February. According to Sunriver Police Department, Johnson worked for a drywall company that had the door code to Rhodes’ house. Johnson is charged with aggravated first-degree theft, second degree burglary, three counts of first-degree theft, two of second-degree theft and one of third-degree theft. A grand jury approved the charges Thursday. He’s currently an inmate of the Deschutes County jail. He’s scheduled to enter a plea in circuit court April 1.
