Redmond Proficiency Academy
outperforms in regional acting competition
From a press release
Redmond Proficiency Acad-
emy’s (RPA) Thespian Troupe
No. 7715 recently competed in
the annual Oregon Thespians
South Regional Acting Com-
petition, winning 26 ribbons
for excellence in numerous
acting categories, the greatest
number for any school in the
region.
The competition was hosted
by Central High School in Inde-
pendence, Ore., where students
were able to compete in-person
this year, a shift from last year’s
all-digital competition.
“Watching these RPA stu-
dents come back to in-person
competition amidst endless
pandemic challenges and see-
ing their hard work rewarded
was a true highlight,” said RPA
Theatre Director Kate Torcom.
“Ribbons aside, their profes-
sionalism, empathy and grace
in the room was unmatched.
They truly represent what RPA
is all about.”
RPA students ribboned in
the following categories, quali-
fying them for the State Acting
Showcase Competition at the
Oregon Thespians State Festi-
val in April:
Large Group Musical — Se-
niors Kendra McGuire and Ca-
sey James; junior Lydia Carter;
medley relay (1:46.93).
Ridgeview’s Drew Harding
won the 500 freestyle (5:48.38).
Freshman Molly Konop led
the Redmond girls, winning both
the 200 IM (2:20.69) and the 100
breaststroke (1:09.27) in meet-re-
cord times. Willow Messner won

Meet Kenia. Kenia was an owner surrendered
here at BrightSide.
Kenia is a crate trained and potty trained dog
who has a ton of energy. His previous owners em-
phasized that he is an amazing dog that is just look-
ing for a home with the time he needs. He is a lov-
ing and playful dog who enjoys hugs and cuddling.
Kenia is said to do okay in the car but can be a bit
wiggly on longer drives.
We do not think a home with cats is suitable for
him as his play behavior with them is chasing. Ke-
nia is a treat-motivated guy so it shouldn’t be hard
to win him over.
If you would like to meet Kenia please come
to BrightSide, 1355 NE Hemlock Ave, Redmond.
