Cline Falls Scenic Wayside is a day-
use state park just west of Redmond
on Highway 126. It has picnic tables,
barbecues, restrooms, horseshoe pits
and plenty of green space. The park is
alcohol-free. The Deschutes River runs
along the park, providing quiet spots
to wade or deeper swimming holes
and slow currents for tubers.

— they are close to the falls, which
have claimed several lives over the
years.
Little evidence exists of the town
that once existed nearby, platted
in 1903. In 1911, a hydroelectric
plant at the falls — now unused but
