Education notes Geoff Von Allmen, of Red- mond, received a master of science degree in computer science from the Georgia Insti- tute of Technology in Atlanta. Erin N. Cork, of Redmond, was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Iowa State Uni- versity in Ames, Iowa, a rec- ognition that requires a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a mini- mum of 12 credit hours. Cork is studying agronomy. Zidane Galant-LaPorte, Seeley Haas and Cassidy Nel- son, all of Redmond, were recognized with academic distinction for the spring se- mester at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Kindred Connections, a local organization which provides mentoring to families and housing for children in crisis, received $2,000. Friends of the Children received $3,000.
