Superintendent’s Choice
Theme Award: All classes within the Handcraft
Department will be eligible. Entries will be judged
on originality, ability level and approximation to the
Fair theme. Indicate entry in this class on exhibitor’s
tag opposite entry number by inserting the word
‘theme’.
A $10 award will be given to each of the above. It
will be included in the premium checks

CERAMICS RULES AND
REGULATIONS
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as
Covid-19 state and local health mandates
on building capacity may limit the number
of last minute walk in entries.
Please refer to DCF General Rules & Regulations in
front of Exhibitor/Premium Book.
" If ceramic set, pieces must be securely
attached to each other in some way. Example:
lids taped to teapots, figurines rubber banded
to one another, etc.
" All items should have been completed within
the last two years and not previously shown at
the Deschutes County Fair.
Basis for Judging:
" Clean up, mold marks removed. Finishing
" Coordination of color
" Originality
" Bottom of piece, inside of lid, etc.
" Details (eyes, flowers, etc.)
" No cracks, chips, or separation of glaze on
the piece
" Attention is given to how complicated the
piece is
" Luster and gold evenly supplied
Definitions:
" Adult: those 19 - 64 years of age
" Senior: those 65 years and above
" Youth: 13 - 18
