Constructed Handspun: Woven articles must be at
least 50% handspun. Knitted, crocheted or felted
items must be 80% handspun. Attach a 3 x 5 card
indicating technique, type of fiber, breed, if known.
Include a sample of all fibers used and any other
information you may wish to share with the judge
and the public. Please attach the name of your
pattern used for your constructed handspun to your
article when available, so that the judge and public
may see what pattern you chose. Also list name of
the pattern used on your 3x5 card. Please do not
include your name on this card.

Section 9 – Felting from fiber
Felting is a non woven fabric made from wool, fur
or hair matted by heat moisture and pressure. All
items must be felted and constructed by the same
individual. All items must be felted. Attach a 3 x 5

Section 10 – Needle Felting
Needle felting is done by using a single needle or
a small group of needles (2-5) in a hand held tool,
these needles are used to sculpt the wool fiber.
The barbs catch the scales on the fiber and push
them through the layers of wool tangling them and
binding them together. All items must be felted.
Attach a 3 x 5 card indicating technique and any
other information you may wish to share with the
judge and the public. Please do not include your

Section 1 – Adult - Leather
In Nuno felting loose fibers are felted to a fabric
using a wet process. The fibers can be felted
to one or both sides of the fabric. The felting
can completely cover the background or be

Department will be eligible. Entries will be judged
on originality, ability level and approximation to the
Fair theme. Indicate entry in this class on exhibitor’s
tag opposite entry number by inserting the word
‘theme’.
A $10 award will be given to each of the above. It
will be included in the premium checks
