Best of Show: Adult Amateur Cut Flowers, Adult
Amateur Novice Arrangements, Adult Amateur
Advanced Arrangements, Youth Horticulture, Youth
Artistic Arrangement, Superintendent’s Choice,
Theme Award: Fair theme will be the subject of this
award. All classes within the department will be
eligible. Entries will be judged on originality, ability
level and approximation to the theme. Indicate on
the exhibitor tag that the entry is in this class by
inserting the word ‘theme’ on the tag in the upper
right-hand corner. ‘Theme’ is not a class by itself.
Adult and Youth will be judged together for the
‘Theme award.”
A $10 award will be given to each of the above
winners. It will be included in the Premium checks.
FLORAL GENERAL RULES
AND REGULATIONS
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as
Covid-19 state and local health mandates
on building capacity may limit the number
of last minute walk in entries.
Please refer to DCF General Rules & Regulations in
front of Exhibitor/Premium Book
" All horticultural exhibits in this department
must have been raised by the exhibitor.
" Containers for cut flowers will be furnished by
the Fair. PLEASE DO NOT USE PERSONAL
VASES.
" After judging, blooms that are wilted will be
removed at the discretion of the department
superintendent.
" Exhibitors are encouraged to replenish fresh
blooms where needed.
" Arrangements and terrariums must not have
been previously exhibited at the Deschutes
County Fair.
" Unusual displays and flowers not listed may be
exhibited, but such exhibits will not be judged.
" Not adhering to the rules and regulations
can cause disqualification of any exhibit
and/or exhibitor.
" Exhibitors are limited to one exhibit in
each class. Exhibitors may only enter in
one Division; you are either a Professional,
Advanced, Amateur, or Novice Exhibitor
" Cut flowers will be disposed of at the end of
fair.
" Youth 18 and under will abide by the same
rules and regulations as the adult exhibitors.
ARTISTIC FLORAL
ARRANGEMENTS RULES
AND REGULATIONS
" Exhibitors are to furnish their own containers
and must label the bottom with their name.
" Exhibitors may place their own arrangements.
Floral department personnel will assist. If it
becomes necessary to move an arrangement
before judging utmost care will be taken.
" Arrangements must be kept fresh until the
close of the Fair. If impossible for the exhibitor
to do so, notify the superintendent who, with
the assistance of Fair personnel, will keep
them in good condition.
" Arrangements not conforming to premium list
specifications will be exhibited on a display
only basis.
" Foliage is permitted in all classes unless
otherwise specified.
" Artificial flowers and foliage are NOT
permitted.
" NO florist or assistant can enter arrangements
except in Professional Floriculture.
" Flowers in these arrangements cannot be
commercially grown (except in Section 05
Professional) but can be grown by someone
other than the exhibitor (i.e. neighbor, friend,
etc.)
" Arrangements must be in place Tuesday,
July 27, 2021 the day prior to the opening
of the Fair.
