F. Jones, ex m ayor o f Redm ond, ch a rgin g him when m ayor, with illegally p erform ing a m arriage cerem ony fo r Mr. and Mrs. Tim Lane o f this city, was tak en b efore the grand Jury at Prtne- ville yesterday. D istrict A ttorney W ilson, after bearing a short state ment o f the case by Mr. Lane In the presence o f the grand Jury, said there was no cause for action against Mr. Jonea; that Mr. Lane was legally m arried, and that the com plain t bore eviden ce o f m aliciou s persecution against both Jones and Lane. H O LID A Y The coun ty fair at Prlnevllle that was held fou r days last week was the beat ever held In Crook county, and attracted large crow ds from all sectlona o f the county and a num ber from ou tside the state. Many from this city and Pow ell Hutte were In attendance dally. T h ere w ere a num ber o f good at tractions each day. Perhaps one o f the greatest attractions was the aeroplane (light made dally except Friday. The race card waa well Ail ed with good events, and the grand stand waa thronged with people who like to aee "th e ponies run.” In the stock departm ent the exhibit was ex cellent. a* was also the poultry ex hibit The band con certs were one o f the attraction s that pleased the large crow ds. One com m en dable feature o f the w hole fair waa the cou rteou s man ner In which visitors w ere treated, both by the fair officials and the tow apeople. T here was no ov er charging by any o f the hotels and restaurants for meals and lod g in g — the regular rate* only being charged T hree regrettable Incidents occu r red during the fair. Stow ell Oram, aged S3 years, waa struck by the aeroplane and received Injuries that caused hla death. A squaw waa ser iously hurt In the pony race Friday, and P \V Howard of Prlnevllle. dropped dead on the race track from heart failure during the stock parade ¡Saturday.
