A forest fire is raging in the
mountains on the Santiam pass.
Men have been stationed at both
ends of the pass to warn travel
ers of the danger. The fire is
burning fiercely on Seven Mile
mountain, and much timber de
stroyed. The smoke can be seen
from this city at times, ami the
air is hazy and clouded even
when the sun is shining the
brightest.
