The new schedule for the mail I Portland Journal: The I'es
service in this section does not
benefit this city to any groat ex-
tent. Since the lirst of the
month mail for Redmond, Bend,
and other towns has l>een coming
in from Culver Junction by the
way of Prineville. By this ar
rungemciit Prinnoville handles all
the mail for this section, which
makes the arrival of mail here the
same as formerly, in the evening,
The only gain in time is on the
outgoing mail which leaves Prine-
ville a few hours earlier. The
mail is received at Prineville
trom Culver early in the morn-
ing, but instead of being sent out
in an hour or two after its arriv-
al it is held until noon, as under
the old schedule.
