while here, and introduced them
to the leading business men of
the city. From here the party
went to Bend where they re­
mained during the balance o f the
day.

I-aat Thursday night an auto

Madras containing five

ed the occupants o f the car into
the water. The car turned over

imprisoned underneat the mach­
ine in the chilly water.

lucky chance none o f the pas­
sengers were injured, and aside
from a thorough wetting they
came out all right.
The failure
o f the steering gear to work was
the cause o f the accident.

Arizona
Willis Graham o f Phoenix,
Arizona, was in Redmond last
week in company with the Great
Northern officials who were tour­
ing this section. Mr. Graham is
looking over the country with a
view o f locating, and stated that
about twenty people from his
town would come to this country
in about a month, as they had
heard so much about the re­
sources o f the Redmond district.
