Redmond, Oregon, Dec. 1. 11*10 The Beat Man in Town The best man we have in our town for the general good of the town is the one who you will al- ways see on the front seat in the progressive bandwagon. He is the first one to extend an open and warm hand to greet the stran- ger and welcome him to the best town in the state. He will re- sent an insult to our town as quickly as he would a slur at a member of his family. He very politely invites the chrcnir croak- er to “ move on.” He is ever ready to give his just proportion to every public enterprise. He talks up our town at home and abroad and believes it the best place upon God’s green earth in which to live and desires to be buried here when he dies. Let us all try and be like this man I for one year and our little city ; will take on new life and improve 1 as never before in its history. Ye Country Editor ___ n , * j • • . It is far more vexing and perplexing than a person who has never had any experience in newspaper work can well imagine. The paper must come out on time, and the reading matter has to be supplied from some source. When the brain of the editor becomes weary, mind inactive and his faithful scissors dull, is it do you imagine, any child’s play for him , . . .... to probe the gas-bags of his tma- gination and bring forth a column See our New Stock of Silverware That we are showing now—just the thing for holiday presents.
