Put Your Crops in the Bank
Summer time is the farmer’s work time. He is
gathering in what must keep him the whole year
through. In order to tide him over the winter
and spring, what he takes in now, must be stored
some where.
Where can he store it better than in our bank?
Not only is your money safe with us. but by keep
ing an account, you get acquainted with business
principles and business men. Try it and see. We
are always glad to see you at this bank.

RIGHT TIME TO DO
YOUR ADVERTISING
A Few Solid Hunks of Ad
vice on This Import
ant Subject
There is nothing on earth so
mysteriously strange in its scope
as a newspaper advertisement.
The prime, tirst, last, and all the
time object of an advertisement
is to draw custom. It is not, was
not and never will lie designed
for any other purpose.
Some merchants wait until the
busy season comes and their
stores are so full of customers
that the merchant can’t get his
hat off. and then he rushes to the
newspaper and puts in his adver
tisement.
When the dull season comes
along and there is no trade and
he wants to sell so had he can’t
pay his rent, he takes out his ad
vertisement. That is, some of
them do. But occasionally a lev
el headed merchant puts in a big
ger advertisement and scoops in
all the business while his neigh
bors are making mortgages to
pay the gas bill.
There are times when you
couldn't stop people from buying
everything in the store if you
planted a cannon behind the
door, and that’s the time the ad
vertisement is sent out on its
holy mission. It makes light
work for the ad, for a chalk sign
on the sidewalk would do all that
was needed, and have a half a
holiday six days in the week.
But who wants to favor an ad
vertisement? Th^y are built to
do hard work, and should be sent
out in dull days when a customer
has to be knocked down with hard
facts and kicked insensible with
bankrupt reductions and dragged
in with irresistable slaughter of
prices before be will spend a cent.
Write this down where you will
fall over it every day:
The time to draw business is
when you want business, and not
when you have more business
than you can attend to already.
If you love your wife buy her
a silver present for Christmas at
Kendall & Chapman's.
County Judge Ellis was over

hours. The judge expressed
himself as surprised at the rapid
growth of Redmond in the past
three months.
My stock of Furniture and Gro
ceries was never more complete.
