Furthermore, at least uine-tenths of these tourists com e from
the interior and want to gel to the coast and will jum p at
the chance to travel a coast road.
T h e more the coast road is improved locally the soon­
er it w ill be recognise I as the com ing big tourist road o f
the state, and m ade into such. These facts, together with
the looal need of good roads in Curry county, give the as­
surance that w henever the $90,000 bond issue is subm itted
to the voters o f the county it will carry by a la rge m ajority
DEVELOPMENT WITHIN REACH.
Northern Carry citizens are taking m uch interest in
th e attem pt to secure a juice extracting plant for th is local­
ity, and it is well that they should. It undoubtedly offers
greater opportunities fur developm ent than any other in ­
dustry that oould be started here. It is the only th in g th at
will ju stify the perm anent and intousive cu ltivation of
hundreds and even thousands of acres of our h ill land.
I t w ill enable these h ill lands to support fam ilies as noth ­
in g rise will.
T h is industry is within reaoh; all that is required ia.
th e guarantee of enough berries to justify the plant. N o
object worth while is ever attained w ithout an effort, and if
the people o f northern Curry will unite in this effort for
her developm ent the berry culture industry w ill become a
reality.
