Judge W. A. Wood made no mistake when he induced
Geo. D. Chenoweth to go to Salem to represent Curry coun­
ty in the Legislature in the place of the late Hon. John K.
Stannard- He is a hard worker, an 1 one who advocates
only those thing which his conscience approves—
and “undue influence" have no place in shaping the actions
of this .veteran of Nq M tin ¿/tad,
In speaking of Mr. Chenoweth's address in the House
on the Rogue river seino brH, the Oregonian said “he won
much applause", and the Telegram credits his efforts, with
those of Mr- Sheldon’s from Grants Tass, as being responsi­
ble for the passage of Ibis bill. Also, he has taken a prom­
inent part in securing a favorable report from the Roads
and Highway committee on the Roosevelt Memorial high,
way bill, which provides ¡or n military highway along the
coast from the ColumbTi river to the California line. This
shows that Mr. Che-juwulh is not oul^ on the job, but that
he is getting results.
If this hili for the lloisovelt highway becomes a law it
will be the most import pit legislation for the development
pfCurry county thot hi* ever been enacted, but whether it
passes or not, Mr. Chenoweth has won his right to the
gratitude o f his constituents for tho energetic fight ho has
made for it.
