T h e new autom obile law that is now in effect in Ore-
gon m akes it the duty of drivers to sound their horus be­
fore rounding turns. It also lim its the speed of autos in
this state to 23 m iles per hour.
The sounding of horns on sharp curves is a life-saver
in Carry county if it is o n ly enforced. A number o f m inor
collisions have already occurrqfl on the sharp turns along
our roads, and as it has been in the past it is on ly a q u es­
tion of tim e until som eone is killed. The speed regulation
is a ll right but it is alm ost im possible to enforce under lo­
cal conditions, but the driver who, runs th e ourvea noise­
lessly oau be easily apprehended.
Som e ears are running on our roada without even an
excuse for a horn, and the T ribune believes that our
C ounty court should post notices along th e road callin g
attention to th is section of the law and the fact that it is
going tp be enforced and then instruct local officers to see
that it fs e n fo rc e d .'
