A reporter ap proached him and learned that work was progressing nicely at the well, but that there is a scarcity of water -on account of the dry weather, which makes it necessary to shut d-own occasionally to let the supply accumulate. The well is now about BOO feet deep, and the indications are all that could beexpeoted. For the lust hundred feet the drilling has been through shale rock. News from Eureka brought the intelligence that the Bandon hall team did up the team of that place in a game on last Saturday, in a «core of 4 to 3, and again on Sun day, by a score of 2 to 1.
