I i : j Mothers’ Day Observance Mothers’ Day is May 8—Sunday. It is celebrated on the second Sun day of May each year, in honor of motherhood. The visible manifesta tion of the event is the wearing of a white carnation, or at anv rate, a white flower. Further celebration» are by appropriate services in the churches and Sunday schools and by family reunions. The day was first suggested by Miss Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia. In a public meeting she voiced these sentiments: “In honor of the best mother that ever lived—your mo ther.” A special Mothers’ Day program will be given at Millard Ave church under the direction of the Christian Endeavor, Sunday evening at 6:30.
