C. H. Turner, who has recently
taken over the Tremont Furnishing
Co.’s business, was a pleasant caller
at tins office Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. E E. Quick. 5517 :'-9th
avenue, are rejoicing over the arrival
of a daughter, whom they have
named Charlotte.
The holiday vacation at the public
schools in Lents will be from the
Thursday previous to Christmas un­
til Monday following New Yearn day
S V. Kaser of Silverton, Oregon,
paid his relatives, the Egginianns. a
visit last Monday. Mrs Kaser will
be here to spend Christmas with the
Eggimati boys, who are her brothers.
Thursday evening. Dec. 23. at 8
o’clock, at the Millard Avenue Pres­
byterian church there will be the
time-honored. gold and tinsel
and
Santa-Claus entertainment for the
Bible school.
Mr. and Mrs Woodcock and Mrs.
James Munch will spend Christina*
with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Larsen at
682. 47th avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Ur
inter from California will also be in
the party.
Ben Hur Court No. 9 will hold a
meeting next Friday evening. Dec. 17,
U' complete election of officers for
the ensuing year. An interesting pro­
gram will be rendered and refresh
ments will be served.
A community dance will be given
at the Lents school house next Sat
unlay evening, commencing at 8
o’clock, sharp, under auspices of the
Parent-Teachers association. Single
admission. 40c; 75c per couple.
Mrs. E. R. Colgan is delighted by
the arrival of her sister, Mrs. G. A.
Murray, of Oakland. Cal., for the
Christmas holidays. Mrs. Murray ex­
perts to make her home in Portland.
A man by the name of Dickerson
was struck by an automobile Satur­
day morning and a second car run
over him, on Foster road, near the
filling station, At last accounts he
was living at his residence on 72nd
street.
Mrs Helen Colgan entertained at
a delightful dinner party at her home
Dec. II. After the dinner hour, the
evening was spent in the playing of
games and dancing. The guests in­
cluded Lucille Bucken, Carl W.
Gladys Farley. Leonard Williams,
Virgina Enduz.zi. Aid Spater. Nor­
man Read and the hostess. The girls
were all charming in party dresses.
