We learn however that this sort of cour age Is the only f uti Ir.tlon for strength of character; upon it we build for the future, and in : ‘portion to its firmness and its [lower to resist evil influences we mold ourselves into worthy luen and good citizens. Without the cour- ■ ;<• to tliink for ourselves, to work for ours. Ives and to dare for ourselves in :he fear and love of God, life would be burdensome and our work meaning less. Wliat tremendous problems will be before the people when peace returns und life gets back to its own. These are the problems of transportation, la bor, profiteering, military rule, temper ance, selfish polities, vice, divorce, tax ation, class legislation, the public serv ice, sinecures and others equally impor tant that the people will have to face when the war Is over, says Ohio State Journal. And there Is this, too, about them, that the war hns greatly changed their character and created new re lations to society about them all. so that they will provide absolute condi tions of our pence and progress. They cannot resume their ancient attitude to ward the world. There will be start ed a new deal and all these problems will be solved so as to obtain their Pew footing in the coming order of things. All these problems will be vastly changed in their scope and im port. The first of tbo new type of subma rine chasers known ns enu'leboats is scheduled for launching in June. A ' pattern boat, which is nearly complet- i ed. Is to have a shore trial of its en gines next week. It is announced that the rate of output Is expected to be a | boat a day when the work of eonstruc- | tlon gets under full swing. The man who was financially responsible for the Roslka Sehwlmjner expedition is not slow In the production of war material now that he recognizes the winning of the war by the allies ns a necessary preliminary to a stable peace. 9:15 a m.
