NOTES $1.48 EACH Lents Hardware Company LP YOU Help In Sight The country is beginning to feel the affects of Hoover’s efforts to relieve the food situa tion. Clippings from many ex changes show that butter, eggs, turkeys, and other cold storage products are being investigated very closely, and a quick step put to the hoarding of food for the purpose of keeping up prices, and we can confidently expect better conditions as time goes on. Of course this works a certain amount of hardship on a few lines of business who have made large profits by such tactics but in a national crisis like the pres ent war, when there is something radically wrong with our system, every effort or step to right it is sure to result in hardship to » those who have in the past been making prices bysuch illegitimate methods. It is quite time we woke up and perhaps if we had had sense enough to realize these conditions sooner, we would not have to pay the terrible price of war to open our eyes. Unquestionably also the price of bread is coming down, but those of us who are fortunate enough to live in Lents have been able to get a reasonable sized loaf at a reasonable price right along from our two local bakeries. They will begin to receive donations the first Tuesday in December. Every thing acceptable. The ladie- have also made arrangements to serve luncheon at noon during their sale.
