ML ^rott ìirnilù Subscription, $1 a Year. AN Lents, Multnomah County, Oregon, March 29, 1917 EASTER Vol. 15. No. DEDICATION This edition commemorates the greatest event in history, the greatest example of the triumph of right over wrong, the supreme test of love, the very foundation of Christian hope. Easter typifies birth after death, sunshine after gloom, glorious, joyous hope after heart-rending sorrow. In its humble way THE HERALD aims to catch this spirit, tries to give forth new life, fresh inspirations, greater and more glorious hopes. We believe in this district the best suburb of Portland. We believe in optimism and prosperity, and that the former often brings the latter and always pays. We believe in righteousness, and that right triumphs over might every time. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died and rose again that at the close of this insignificant life of ours we might share the heavenly home throughout eternity. Conscious of human fallibility but inspired by the opportunities that lie before us, this paper is dedicated anew to the hopes inspired by Eastertime. THE PUBLISHERS. r
