A fleeting of the voters of School
District was held in the school
building Monday to discuss the
school budget and vote on raising
the tax limit to six per cent above
that of last year. E. M. Blodgett,
chairman of he board of directors,
presided. A very light vote was
polled, only 13 votes being cast. W.
B. Hoxie and Mrs. Martha Klinken-
berg were appointed judges of elec
tion and H. F. Brown, clerk. The
polls were held open until 7 p. m.,
the tally sheet showing 12 in favor
of adopting the budget, amounting
to ' nearly $19,000, and one against.
For raising the tax limit 11 voted
for and one against. By this ac
tion Nyssa will be enabled to
maintain her schools at their pres
ent high standard. An adverse
vote would probably have necessi
tated closing the schools.

daughter who has been visiting her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
Duncan, for the past two weeks.
Henry McNee arrived home Wed
nesday after several weeks absence
on business.
Archie Sinclair and family were
Sunday dinner guests of Bert Rob
erts and family at Big Bend.

will visit for a time before going on
to California, where they expect to

the necessary expenditures of the City for the ensuing fiscal year as the
basis for the tax levy to be made by the City.
