Mrs. Mildred McMahan, president
of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon,
paid our little lodge an official visit
Saturday night. The members en
joyed the instructive address she
gave, after which an ice-cream so
cial was held.
A party of men came up from
Caldwell Sunday to look at some
mining property near here.
Mrs. Fannie Howard of Baker is
visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. B.
Woodcock.
Mrs. L. E. Worsham returned
home from Baker Thursday, where
she had boon on a visit to her
daughter, Mrs. F. E. Woodcock.
H. M. Rutherford, and Ed Wilson

Carl De Roe of Ironside made

commissioner here.
Many tourists are passing through
here daily, on account of the high
way through Durkee being so bad.
A party of four women rame
through from New York on a tour

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bennett were
shopping in town Friday.
James Morfitt and J. E. Hill made
a business trip to Vale Wednesday
of last week, in regard- to the
school.
Frank Cardwell was a business
visitor here from Bridgeport last
week.
Mike Able is supplying the neigh
borhood with some very nice resp
berries from his ranch.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morfitt re
turned home from Ironside Satur
day, where Mr. Morfitt had been
employed in the hay field.
Haying was delayed last week by
the heaw rains.
Mrs. Wallace Derrick left Tuesday
on an extended visit with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Monroe in
Nampa.
Everyone is cordially invited to

given on Saturday, August 12, in
the I. O. O. F. hall here.
Wallace Derrick is doing some
fencing on his Homestead, this week.

helped the grass, which was getting
pretty dry.
Mrs. T. R. Beers and Mrs. John
Wall and children visited with Mrs.
E. Rogers last Sunday.
Velva Beers called at the Shum
way home last Sunday afternoon.
Miss Jennie Beers called on the
Riverside people the week end.
J. T. Beers had the bad luck to
get one of his cows poisoned. It
was supposed she had got some
Laxbura, that deadly . weed. '
Frank Shumway made a business
trip to Vale the first of the -week.
Mrs. Metzger has been visiting at
the Rogers home this week.
Guy Story Shumway went to. the
dam for a load of lumber Wednes
day of this week.

Allen Johnson made a business
trip to Ontario Thursday.
Mrs. James Stingle and daughter,

and spent a few days at the ranch

cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Enos,
and little daughter of Adrian, Mo.
The guests have been touring the
west and included a trip through
Yellowstone National Park in their
itinerary.
Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Cotton are
soon going to have work started on
a modern bungalow on their ranch.
They have purchased the materials
from the Van Petten Lumber Com
pany in Adrian. Mr. Enos, local
manager of the company, reports
that they have also Bold material to
the Warren school district for a
new school building.
The Cummings and Martin fam
ilies of Upper Roswell spent Wed
nesday afternoon in the Kolony.
B. C. Burroughs of New Plymouth
was in the Kolony Friday attending
to business connected with his ranch

Mrs. Fred Dasch, mother of Mrs.
Ralph Chlnn, a former resident of
Brogan, passed away at her home
in Weiser, Monday evening, July 31.
Mrs. Dasch is survived by her hus
band, two sons, Oliver of Hot Lake,
and Carl of Weiser, and two daugh.

Mr. Ford is superintendent and Mr,
Forcier principal of the Valo high
school. They interviewed a 'number
of our eighth , grade graduates who
may enter the Vale high school this
fall.
Miss Chrissie Graham returned to
her home in Ontario, last week,
after spending a few weeks with
friends and relatives in Juntura and
Beulah.
Roy Pounds, who was engaged in
the barber business here tho past
six months, has returned to Home-
dale, his old home town. Mr, Carey,
formerly of Vale, has taken over the
barber shop.
Ossar Rust, who resided here
some years ago, was in town Mon
day. The weather man has had a
change of heart lately, for which
we are deeply grateful. The past
week has been cool enough to per
mit one to indulge in the delightful
luxury of feeling chilly and shiver
ing something which we feared
was becoming a lost art in Juntura.
Dell Kauphusmun, who is putting
up alfalfa on the Robertson ninth,
spent Sunduy in town with friends
and relatives.
