However, farmers have accomplished lots of work this winter and there won't be so much rush work to do when crop time rolls around again Charlie Spcnce and family wall ar rive from Wellsville, Utah, this week with a car of household goods, stock, etc. Mr. Spence is much pleased with his new home and th'inks this the best country on earth. Much land is changing hands. J. W. Craynor will leave soon for Rawlins, Wyoming, where he will spend some time doing carpenter work. Mr. Craynor is a good carpen ter and gets extra good wages in Wyoming. Mrs. E, E. Record returned from a visit with her two sons, who are sta tioned at American Lake, Washing ton, and had a very pleasant time. The annual meeting of the Mal heur District Improvement Company will be held at the .nnex school house on Wednesday of this week, for the purpose of electing directors for the ensuing year. The names of the now board will be given next week. W. J. Jensen returned from a visit to his sons at Camp Lewis, American Lake, Washington, . and enjoyed the trip very much. Ruben Pcarcc has just completed a new pump house for Roy Parker. We are always glad to seo improvements. John Farnsworth, of Rupert, Ida ho, has purchased 17 acres of land in the Annex Addition and expects to move his family here and make his home on the Flat. Mr. Farnsworth is highly pleased with this part of the country. Mr. Berkshire, who moved hero from Wheeler county several weeks igo, is making improvements on his house and expects to do a lot of other repair work later. C. II. Jan. 1G The annual meeting of the stock holders of the Kingman Kolony Irri gation Co. was held at the school house Saturday, and the following di rectors were elected for the ensuing year: Frank Morgan, Jas. Ewing, Ben Logan, Althea Sheldon and Mr. Thompson. A car was left Friday containing the household furniture, farm imple ments, horses, cows, etc., for Mr. Mar. tin, the new owner of the Wade place Mr. Martin is very busy getting the house in readiness for his wife and two daughters, who are expected to arrive the middle of the week. A very spirited game of basket ball was played here Friday, between Kingman Kolony and Bend schools, The score was 7 to 5 in favor of King. man. A return game will be pjayed with Bend on the 25th. About one-fourth of the fruit trees in the Company orchard have been pruned. A "Hard Time Dance" was enjoyed by the, young people last Friday even ing. A number of young pe'ople from Vale were in attendance. J. L. Pope has been making some improvements in his General Store. A new office, has been built in the cen ter of the room, which makes quite an improvement. Also a gasoline ser vice is being installed in front of the store. Twelve of. tho Jamieson school children belong to the American Red Cross. Each room in the school has a, service flag to show who are mem bers. The children in the primary and intermediate room have be'erj spending their Tecesses' this1 week, while it is stormy, clipping scraps for the comfort pillows. Even the boys ate doing their bit. .
