for Malheur county, at the Novem
ber 3rd, 1914, general election (au
thorizing the issuance of the bonds
hereinafter mentioned) and an order
of tha' court made the 5th February,
1915, pursuant thereto, authorizing
and directing the issuance of certain
bonds, namely:
Gold bonds issued for the construc
tion of permanent roads in Malheur
county, Oregon, to an amount aggre
gating the principal sum of $30,000,
comprised of 30 bonds numbered con
secutively from 1 to 30, both numbers
inclusive, of the denomination of
$1,0U0 each, dated December 1, A. D.
1914, due and payable December 1, A.
D. 1934, bearing interest from their
date until paid at the rate of six (6)
per centum per annum, payable semi
annually on the first days of June and
December, respectively, in each year;
both principal thereof and interest
thoreon payable at the Fiscal Agency
of the state of Oregon, in the city and
Hale of New York, U. S. A.
Tim said bonds are being issued and
soul for the purpose of raising money

manent roads in and for the said
county pursuant to a vote of the legal

"Ordinance No
"An Ordinance to purchase the
lands known as 'Chester's Grove' for
Park purposes, and directing and au
thorizing Davment for the same.
"Whereas, A. H. Chester does offer
to sell and convey to the city oi vaie,
Oregon, that certain tract of land
known as 'Chester's Grove,' in or ad
jacent to the City of Vale, Oregon,
(the same being hereinafter fully de
scribed), comprising two and 28-100
(2.28) acres of land, for the sum of
two thousand ($2,000.) dollars, free
and clear of lien or incumbrance, and
"Whereas. There is no other place
in or near the city suitable for out of
doors assemblages of the people, etc.,
and the same is the only grove with
in reach, and is needed by the city and
the people, and is desirable and neces
sary for the city, and the price there
for is reasonable, now, therefore, we,
"The people of the City of Vale do
ordain as follows:
'The City of Vale does ordain as
follows:
"Section 1. That upon a sufficient
deed of general warranty of title, ex
ecuted by A. H. Chester, and his wife,
conveying the above referred to and
the hereinafter described premises to
the City of Vale, Oregon, being deliv
ered to the Mayor of the said City of
Vale, and satisfying him by delivery
of a sufficient abstract ol the title to
said premises, or otherwise, as he may
require, that the same is free and
clear of lien or incumbrance, the City
of Vale, Oregon, by its proper officers,
shall accept said conveyance, title,
and premises, described as follows, to
wit j
"Beginning at a point one hundred
and sixty (160) feet South of the
Southeast corner of block numbered
sixteen (16) in the Original Town of
Vale, Oregon, according to the plat
thereof of record in the office of the
County Clerk of Malheur county, Ore-
on, thence West, parallel to the
outh line of said block sixteen (16),
two hundred (200) feet to a point;
thence South, at right angles to the
last said line, one hundred and sixty
(160) feet to a point; thence West,
parallel to the South line of said block
sixteen (16) if extended, sixty (60)
feet, more or less, to the Northeast
corner of block numbered fifteen (15)
in said original town of Vale, Oregon,
according to said plat thereof; thence
South, at right angles to the last said
line, two hundred and sixty (260) feet
to a point; thence East, at right ang
les to the last said line, two hundred
and sixty (260) feet to a point; thence
North, at right angles to the last said
line, four hundred and twenty (420)
feet, more or less, to the place of be
ginning, containing two and 28-100
(2.28) acres of land, more or less, all
lying and being situate in the county
of Malheur and state of Oregon: and
the city of Vale, Oregon, shall, there
upon, by and through its proper offi
cers, the Mayor, Council and Record
er, who are hereby instructed and di
rected so to do, pursue the necessary
method, and take the necessary pro
ceedure, to pay for the same from city
funds, the sum of two thousand
($2,000.) dollars, to the said Chester.
The said lands shall be held and used
as a park;" shall be submitted to the
legal voters of the City of Vale. Ore
