Mr. Dean, who has been attending a convention In Portland returned last Friday. LeRoy Dean has added his name to the school register. A Christmas program and com munity tree "were the feature of the entertainment at Valley Vlow Fri day evening. Edmund Griffin left last week for Chicago where he expects to attend an electrical school. The Farm Bureau was organized at Valley View last week. Mr. Kin der, county club leader, favored them with a violin solo, and Mr. Conklin gave several readings form Riley. Knox Alexander visited at Gus Rich's Sunday. at BAPTI8T CHURCH Bible school at 10:00 a. m. Morning worship at 11 a. m. Junior and Senior B. Y. P. U, 6:30 p. m. It is expected that Rev. G. II. Young will bo present next Sunday and preach, as he is to be hero for tho district B. Y. P. U. rally. This district comprisese the Young Peo ples Unions of Emmett, New Plym outh, Frultland, Payette, Wolsor and Ontario. The first session will convene at 2:30. Social hour and lunch 5 to 7 and the evening session at 7 o'clock. Rev. W. A. Shanks, state director of Idaho Young Peoples work, will be the principal speaker at tho after J noon session, and Rev. G. H. Young at the evening session. All young people are Invited. A watch night service consisting of devotional stu dies and prayer will follow the eve ning service. The week of prayer follows. Chas. H. Blom, pastor. FMIIIAND BENCH WARREN MFWS Friday evening, Dec. 22, a Christ mas program was given at tho Ore gon Trail school house. Miss Mabel Woods and Miss Ansa Stanor , pupils of the school, were very successful In collecting dona tions for tho community Christmas tree and candy. Miss Daisy Secoy left Friday to spend tho holidays with her parents in Ontario. Miss Elsie Poole will visit during the holidays with her sister in La Grande. At tho Oregon Trail school Fri day, January 6th, will occur tho raffling of the quilt made by the parents of tho community. Tickets at 10c each will be on sale from Jan. 3rd to Friday the 6th. Pro ceeds will go toward payment for the school piano. The depositors of tho Frultland State bank were called together Tuo3day afternoon by tho committee which represents them. This meet ing was for tho purpose of asking waivers on their deposits In order that the bank might be reorganized. Tho depositors with almost unani mous consent agreed to waiver as had been asked. There is consider able detail work to bo done before tho bank can be re-opened. Simple and beautiful was tho mar riage ceremony of Mr. Theodore Enberg to Miss Marry Dell Hollon beck, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hollenbeck, Saturday, Decem ber 23rd. Tho ceremony was per formed by Rev. Herschol Shank In the presenco of immediate relatives of both families. Mr. and Mrs. En berg eft on the afternoon train for the west on a short trip, and upon their return will make tholr home in Frultland. Mrs. Winnlo Ford passed awny Friday night from other pneumonia j from an operation performed a short time before. Sbo leaves to mourn hor a husband, two girls and one boy. Funeral services wore held last Sunday at Payette and inter ment made in Riverside cemetery. Denny & Co. shipped out last week six cars of apples, and this week six more cars will go out from their plant at Frultland. These are most ly of tho Rome variety. Mrs. J, M. Royston recelvod word of two grandsons, a son born to Mr. and Mrs. S. Royston, Calgary, Can., December 18; also a son born to Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Jaeger of Port land, December 10th. Mrs. Jnogor was formerly Miss Irma Royston.
