had not seen for two years.
So far only two hunters who
havo combed the hills for deer
havo reported success they being
Dr. R. O. Payno and 'Dick Robin
son who brought in three saddles
of venison for distribution among
their friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Canfleld who
spent tho summer at Pando, Col
orada roturned home on Saturday
and on Monday Mr. Canfield ac
companied R.- W. Jones on a deer
hunting trip in the hills of tho
Boar Creek region.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Locoy of
Ironside and Fred Locoy of that
samo section woro in Ontiulo over
tho week ond.
Dr. C. M. Tyler Is among the
lrrato citizens of Ontario, and the
doctor thinks with reason, for Bob
Smith and Joy Husted while hunting
along the Malheur Sunday mistook
a pair of tamo decoys for real wild
fowl, and now Doc Is searching for
a couplo of now birds.
Mrs. Lloyd Riches of Vale was
taken suddenly ill Sunday and
brought to thic city late in tho af
ttornoon for an operation for ap
pendicitis, from which she is ro
ported to bo making rapid progress
toward recovery.
Mrs. D. W. Powers Is recovering
from the effects of an operation for
tho removal of tonsils, performed
last Friday.
A. L. Cockrum and sons Harry B.
and Arthur B., and George W.
Hotchkiss mado a river trip from
Nyssa to Ontario Sunday and bagged
a few ducks on ttho voyage down
tho Snake.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, to the legal voters and taxpayers of tho City
of Ontario, Ore., that a meeting of tho Common Council of said City will
bo hold a tho City Hall, on tho Cth day of November, 1922, at tho hour of
7:30 o'clock p. m. for the purpose of discussing any or all of tho different
items, contained in tho City Budget for 1023, hereinafter set out, with
any citlzon therein interested.
Tho following is tho Budget prepared by the Budgot Committee
of tho City of Ontario and shows in detail tho amounts of money necessary
for tho different oxponsos of the City during tho ensuing fiscal year, to
gether with tho estimated revenues of tho City from all sources other
