Dalles Post wants to hear from the ac quatlc stars of Oregon who belong to tho American Legion. A three day water carniyal will he held hero during the week of conven tions next month, and Don W. Yan tls, who used to hang up records himself, is In charge. Dalles Post and local business men will offer prizes for the winners, and it is hoped to establish a custom which will last as long as there are enough legion members left with enough limber Joints to take to the water. The prizes have not yet been an nounced, but they will bo substan tial 'enough to attract the best swimmers. The Columbia is a mile wide at The Dalles, and ambitious swimmers can paddle all the way down to Astoria, if. they want to, so there is plenty of space for all com petitors. There will be swimming events for women too, Tho Post's catch-word for tho convention is Bring your Uniform," but equally well It can urge legionalres to bring bathing suits too.
