Five members of tho Dairy Herd
Record Club, at Oregon Slope fin
ished their project and filed their
Report with the County club agent
on Tuesday. Several of tho mem
bers left school and others got a
lato start so that the club was not
ablo to finish 100 per cent. Mr.
Lindsey local leader, assisted the
boys with their testing and records.
Tho members who finished the work
are, Curtis Carico, Junior Miller,
Ralph Lauer Dewnrd Grace, and
Chester Holloway.
Iola Weber Completes Cooking
Iola Weber, president of tho Rlv-.
erdale Cooking club, is the first girl
in Malheur county to file her final
report for 1922. Tho story of her
work is as 'follews:
"We organized a girls cooking
club on the 15th of December 1921.
Our teacher, Mrs. Keuhl, was chosen
for local leader. I Jiave enjoyed
my work very much for I have
learned something that I did not
know before.
"On tho last day of school we had
an exhibit. I received two blue
ribbons as first prize and one white
ribbon as third prize. I received
prizes on all that I took. After
the exhibit we ate the girls' cook-
dinner.

so well that I am, going to Join the
canning club this' summer. I only
hope that we will like it as well as
we did the cooking. I will do my
best to get one started. The" boys'
have a pig club, and I think the
girls ought to have something to do.

ELECTS OFFICIALS
At a1 meeting of the members of
the" Ontario district of the Idaho
Producers Union comprising the
counties of Malheur Payette and
Washington, hold last Saturday af
tornoon at the City Hall, in Ontario
G. 'W. Dean was elected a director
to represent the district on the
board of nine wblch will have con
trol of this now cooperative organ
isation which will market potatoes
and lettuce this season for more
than 1500 farmer members in
Southwest Idaho and Southeast Ore
gon. At tho 'same time, the ballot
ing for district chairman resulted
in the election of G. W. Lattig while
Thos. W. Clagett was chosen for
district secretary.
The Ontario district of the I. P.
U. has over 200 members, grouped
Into six locals. . Four of these lo
cals are in Malheur ceunty: On
tario Vale, Adrian and Oregon
Slope. One is in Washington coun
ty, Idaho at. Wolser and tho other
in Payette county Idaho at New
Plymouth. The entire association
is made up of 8 districts, similar in
organization. Tho canyon county
Farm Bureau Is responsible for ini
tiating tho movement and for carry
Ing'out tho plans which Its lottuce
and potato marketing committees
worked out although it has had the
active cooperation of many other
county farm bureaus ana otnor xorce
working in tho interest of agricul
tural advancement. Tho number
of members' and volume of produce
to be handled exceeds already all
expectations of the organizers, for
tho first year and other growers aro
constantly applying for member
ship as the purposes aid plans of
