Other good floats woro tho "pralrlo schooner, "going to tho Fair" "Oregon Fruit" and tho Edu cational Exhibit float. Immediate ly after tho fair tho tmsoliull game botwoou the Onturlo High School nnd tho Nyssn tennis proved vory Interesting. Nyssa won by n S to i score. The largest crowd over witnessing a high school baseball game attended. At sovon o'clock in tho evening tho carnival began with tho usuul carnival band playing In troupor stylo. From ouo show to another the band lead tho crowd until everyone had heon pullod into the shows. All the shows wero of the burlesque variety and tho good hu mor and spirit or good nature which was shown by tho crowd Indicated tho good tlmo that was oujoyod. Ono of tho most popular shows was tho Mnck Sennot Dathlng Beauties. Other shows which drew good crowds wero tho Minstrel and the Hnttlo Itoyul. Tho center of at traction tho was tho Yellow Duwg Saloon and tho Greasy Spoon Kntin' Joint. Many a hot dog was wash ed down by soda pop, buttermilk or lemonade. Of courso the fa mous brass rail was present - Tho Educational exhibit was woll patronized. This exhibit Included tho handling of farm voterlnary tools, farm shop work, reference mate'rlal from which farmers should koep posted on tho latest Ideas of handling their produce, samplos of food, rntlons for various typos of nulmnls doing various types of work, practical stock Judging, sep arating and handling of milk, and several other interesting topics. The work of tho Department was well illustratod and showed the value of agricultural training. Financially the fair was a suc cess. Approximately 1200 was tak en in which after paying oxponses will net nhout $150, This money will bo used to send tho stock ludglng team to Union Orogon In Juno to compete with other Smith- Hughes schools.
