1'APEIW OR PRODUCTION
Ono oft he questions Incident to
tho Importation of dairy cows Into
a now dairying section has to do
with tho brooding back of tho stock.
Tho prlco of dairy cattlo of Ilka pro
duction varies. Registered cattle
come much higher becauso of the
papors which go with them represent
ing caroful breotlng. On tho aver
ago, thoso registered cattlo will pro
duce moro than grades and aro there
fore worth moro on that account.
But buying registration paper U
ono thing and buying production an
other. For tho man who ha no In
clination to keep up the registration
of tho stock, or who Is not by nature
a breeder, money put Into registerod
stock may bo a very poor Investment.
Tho same amount of capital Invested
In good producing stock would pro
vide a much larger herd upon -which
tt would bo onsler to realise profits.
In tho hands of the avorage dairy
man, a, cow Is worth Just what her
production makes her worth, regard
less of tho papers that are or are
not with her.
WLV.VERS ATTEND FAIR
Three County Club Champions,
Violet Lees, Evadlne Cochran, and
Qlonn Rose wero awarded tho trip
to the State Fair by the County Agri
cultural Association.
While at tho State Fair these Club
members were entertained In the
Boys' and Girls' Club Camp under
the supervision of Mr. J. E, Calavau,
Field Worker for the Department of
Education.
The boys and girls had a splendid
opportunity of seeing tho Fair, hear
ing prominent speakers, and getting
acquainted with "Clubbers" from all
parts of tho Stato.
The Malheur County girls and boy
enjoyod the trip across tho State,
and all -of tho Fair except tho rain
which was 'a decidedly newexperl
onco to them.
