AMENDMENT TO CITY CHARTER Shall Section 27 of tho City Charter bo amended to read as follows, towit; Section 27. Tho Mayor of tho City of On tario shall receive such compensation for his services as shall bo deemed advisable by tho Common Council, not exceeding tho sum of 50.00 per month, and tho couucilmou shall rccoivo such compensation as they bo deemed entitled to, not exceeding the sum of five dol lars, ($5.00), for each regular meeting of said council that said Couucilmen shall attend. Provided, howover, that if the Mayor shall ro ccivo any salary for his services that ho shall dovoto at least two days of each week to the attention of tho affairs of said City, and, pro vided, further, that no councilman shall receive any compensation for any regular meeting at wliich ho is not in attondanco. " It is further provided that the Mayor or any member of the Common Council, during the term of his office shall not bo interested dir ectly, or indirectly, in any contract, tho ex ponso of which is to be paid by the City.
