WHAT IT COSTS?
With all of the burdeas of war to be con
sidered Congress thru its committees has
not been overlooking domestic affair, as
was evidenced by the news dispatches o
Tuesday morning's papers, which carried
the tentative budgets for the various aov-
ermental departments.
There was thru the absence of appropria
tions for Oregon, food fdr hot for Oregon
ians. While such items a-t, $435,000 for King
Hill, $954,000 for Yakima, and other sums
for Okanogan, Minidoka and other projects
in Washington and Idaho formed the burden
ofthe reclamation section, appropriations
lor Oregon reclamation districts could not
be discovered with the naked eye Win is

portion of the money that has been taken
from the sale of lands of the state for the
reclamation of the arid region
