In fact there were really three conven tions at the same time, and real po litical conventions too. The Repub licans going to one room, the Demo crats to another and the Socialists to another room. The Republicans and the Progres atves Joined forces anil had two more members than the Democrats They had some arguments over their can didate for President, Roosevelt and Cummins being the leaders. Cum mins finally received the nomina tion by a large majority, and the Pro gressives agreed to support him for President. Great excitement waa shown In the meeting, several mem bers expressing their sentiments to the poll.', and stating tlielr vlewa In plain language. Stephen Cox was chosen to make tha iiomliiiiCou speech before the As sembly next Friday after which a general election will be held by all members or the high school. The Democrats unanimously chose Woodrow Wilson for their candidate for President and appointed Ephrl am Herrlot to make the noiuinatloii speech before the assembly next Fri day. They were In great enthusiasm over the nomination and expect to carry the election In the high school. The meeting was featured by talks from various members aud great ap plause at the nomination of Wood row Wilson. The Socialists were stronger than waa expected having fifteen members In all. Kolieri Mender was elected chairman and a platform was sug gested upon which to fight for the election. Another meeting waa held Monday aud the platform adopted.
