Jordan Valley, Ore., Feb. ".(Amis Special Service). Mr. John Iloyer, who was afflicted with paralysis sev eral weeks ago dlod here Friday at the home of his daughter. Mrs. I. W. Sharp. He was one of the rugged pioneers and gave many years to the advancement of civilisation and the upbuilding of this western portion of our country. John Boyer was born In Cincinnati, Ohio, on the 15th of March, 1830, died on the 29th of January. 19tr, at the age of 84 years, 10 months 15 days. He was a pioneer of Oregon and Nevada, having crossed the plains in 1849, when a young man of 19 years. For years he resided at Cnionvllle. Nov. He was an Odd Fellow of ex cellent standing for 50 years, was a charter member In California and Ne vada. At the time of his death he waa a member of the Huena Vista lodge, of Lovelock, Nevada. Mr Hoyer leaves at the time of his death four children to mourn his loss. Mrs. I. W. Sharp of Jordan Valley, Mrs. W. II Springer of Lovelock, Nev Mrs. : P. Btltes of Rocheater, Nev., and John W.
