Frank and Lester Rands and Neil Van Netta, returned Saturday from their trip to the hills, bringing back with them two deer, There was snow on the mountains when they crossed over into the deer country and when it began raining where they were they suposed it was snowing on the mountain so their trail would soon he blocaded, therefore they retraced their steps and returned hoine sooner than was exected. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dotson are the proud parents of a fine baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. McConnell and Mr. and Mrs. 11 R. Russell took a trip to Knunett Tuesday afternoon, relum ing in the evening. Mrs. F. W. Swank and two little girls moved to Payette last week where they will make their home. The Puyette district Sunday school convention which was held in New Ply mouth last week Wednesday and Thurs day was very good. The following offi cers were elected for the year: Pres. S. J. Kennepp; vice Pres. Phillip Smith Sec. and Treas. Thos. Weir. The New Plymouth jieople served dinner in the lecture room which was appreciated and enjoyed by all. A large number from here will attend the lorn Carnival at Ontario, Wednes day and Thursday of this week. W. R. Shinn, was in Fruitland one day last week in the interest of the Carnival. Friends of Kluubt-th Reid will be glad to know that she is able to return to her work in the Payette National Hank. On account of poor health ifca has been taking a vacation, visiting at the T. F. Harry home in Corvallis. Mr. Hadlcy and family are moving to F.lilliiett this week. Boise. -The republicans will control the neat legislature of this state, ac cording to returns complete from the S3 counties, having elected 19 sen ators and 33 representatives. To control the senate 17 senators are needed and to control the house 31 representatives. The republicans have both. The democrats elected 11 senators and ' representatives, the progressives 2 senators and 1 repre sentative and the socialists 1 senator. On strictly party Issues the repub llcans will have no trouble In the leg Islature. Their main worry will be with the new governor, who Is a dear ocrat. Likewise he will he handicap ped In putting through his policies with a republican legislature. Senator John Hart, now of Jefferson county, formerly of (-'turnout county, president pro tern and "whip'' of the senate, was re-elected. Other sen ators sent back Include K. M.
