Mrs. P. K. flenson and her sister, Gertrude Seigel, left Sat urday for their parertal home in Iowa. Miss Seigel has spent the summer with her sister and made many friends during her stay here. H. It. Russell purchased the 10-aoro tract of land last week belonging to C. M. Williarai. Whealdon fe Mankinson pur chased a carload of wheat last week to feed their hogs. It will be shipped from Camas Prairie, Idaho. They feed about 5000 pounds a week. Bert Fitch and family moved from the Howard ranch to their home in town. Gus Davis returned last week from Mexico with about 250 head of cattle which he expects to fatten and sell. About fotty of our young peo ple attended the birthday sur- prise Friday night on Ralph Mankinson, given in the Badley packing tents. Refreshments of sandwiches, cocoa, pumpkin pie, cnke and cider were served and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. John Rands returned Wednesday from South Dakota, where she has been visiting with relatives for several weeks. Messrs. Robinson and E. E. Hunter returned the first of the week from Homedale where they have been working. John T. Wayne and family left Saturday for Tacoma, Wash., to make their home. Rev. Van der Maeten, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Pocatello, spoke in the Metho dist church Thursday evening. He has charge of a branch of C. E. work of the state and it was a help to get him to come before the society here. Several mem bers of the New Plymouth Y. P. 8. C. E. were also present. Messrs. Wm. Melcher and son Ira and Charles Boor returned from their trip beyond Brogan. They purchased 400 acres of land for which they paid $10,000 They expect to go back the first of the week to do some plowing. The Good Roads Commission is having gravel hauled for the roads east of Pleasant View school house. They commenced work Monday with about fortv teams and will add more as the farmera get time to haul. They are also hauling for the roads nearer New Plymouth and the time is not far distant until there will be a solid road from near New Plymouth to either Ontario or Payette. Prof, and Mrs. T. R. Neilson are the proud parents of a fine baby boy born October 26. C. E. Harry and children re turned the first of the week from Missouri where they have been visiting relatives. Pete Johnson sold a lot and kirncr shop Monday to N. J. Phillips, consideration $1,200. The W. C. T. U. met Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church with Mrs. H. R. Flack as leader. J. O. Scritchfield lost his best Holstein cow last Thursday from bloating.
