The gardeners hoed the straw berries
on Monday.

Miss A ugusta Sawtelle, of Pendleton,
Oregon, left for her home on W ednesday
after a long visit with Miss Skipton at
the school.
Pascal J. George, a form er Chemawa
Rtuden», is now em ployed at the Coeur
d'A lene Agency, in W ashington, at a
salary of $50 per m onth.
Mr Mitchell and his force of in d u strial
workers are busy m aking a flower garden
along the 10-foot fence near the root
house and prune drier road.
Mr E nright accom panied the m em bers
of the baseball team to Dallas last S a tu r
day and has m any praises for the boys
and th eir conduct while on th eir trip.

on S unday m orning from Pendleton
where he served a short while as
in d u strial teacher in the Indian School.
The gardeners are busy plowing and
p u ttin g in condition the school garden
tract.
The pupils have long wished to
see this done, as they enjoy the school
gaiden instruction.

chine which he invented. We wish them
continual success.
Gordon Hickox passed away on T ues
day night as the result of tuberculosis.
He was aged 17 years an d had been ill
for a period of th ree m onths. He was a
good boy and d u rin g his school days at
t ’hrniaw a won m any friends am ong his
fellow stu d en ts by his man I v co n d u c t.
The funeral services were held in chapel
at 3 oclock on W ednesday afternoon.
The services were conducted by Rev. P.
I . M artin and were u n u su ally im pressive.
In term en t was m ade in the Chem awa
cem etery. Mr. Hickox, father of the
deceased, was present at the last sad
rites and has the sy m p ath y of all in his
hour of bereavem ent.
