The carpenters are busy building the paint shop. The boys were plowing in the orchard this morning. The carpenters are busy this week making a new lumber shed. Alex Arquette returned to school last week from loppenish, Wash. Lawrence Mahatch is the best marble player in the little boys' building. Lee Evans has entered the blacksmith department and we all wish him buccess. Frank Chamberlain .and Archie Mc Donald are now working in the paint shop. Til i ie Reinken received some very pretty baskets from her sister in Alaska last Sunday. Buford Spencer is going to try to be the quarter back for Chemawa's football team this yean Mr. Cooper went up to Portland on Monday and brought nine new pupils back with hmi. The new boys who entered the tailor shop lately are getting along very nicely with their work Bertha Spencer and Rhoda are two of the best artists in the sixth grade. They draw very nicely. Lillie Patton is one of Miss Brown's best dressmakers. She made four waists on Monday morning. The hot water boiler is being removed from the small girls' home by the car penters and engineers. Twelve new pupils arrived here Mon day afternoon; four girls and eight boys. They were from Montana. "Success" is the motto of the Excelsior boys and I hope they receive what they are aiming for. "Three cheers for the Excelsiors!" The football game on Saturday was very much enjoyed by those who were present, and we hope to see some more of them later on. Mr. Pugh and his detail of boys are moving Mr. Teabo's house in south of Mr. VanTassell's and are to fix it so it will be a little warmer this-winter. Julia and Laura Cochran went up to Salem on Friday to visit one of their friend's and returned on Saturday. They enjoyed themselves very much. Irene Martin is one of Mrs. Teabo's girls. She is a girl you will never catch playing until all her work is done. She is very faithful ahd industrious in her work. . Eva Keluche says she likes to work in the hospital kitchen, so when she goes to keep house she will know how to cook many different things for herself and others. A number of pupils from Unalaska arrived here at Chemawa en Sunday evening after chapel. We are glad to see so many pupils coming to Chemawa this year. Mrs. Woods and Miss Cooper took the laundry girls out to the apple orchard Monday evening; Anna Souvigner and Julia Cochran were among them.
