Mr. Rueben Saunders arrived home on
Monday evening from Tulalip, where he
was temporarily employed as engineer.
All about the school there b evidence
of life hustle and bustle Much is
being accomplished in every depart
ment. There is nothing "dead-alive"
about us.
Mr. Enright, accompanied by a num
ber of boys, went to the Harold farm,
abo,U three miles from the school, on
Monday and brought back a winter's sup

Frank Rosenberg departed on Sunday
evening for Tulalip, Wash., where he will
be employed as engineer for an in

is superintendent at that school. Frank
is a good boy, capable and trustworthy.
From "The Thlinget" of Sitka, Alaska,
we learn that the old buildings of the
Sitka Training School have outlived
their usefulness and are now being torn
down. Never again will this school
be known by the old name, but when
school opens a year hence in the new
buildings which are in course of erection
it will be recognized as "The Sheldon
Jackson School." Thus the cause of
Indian education joins in the march of
progress
Last Saturday, in response to a tele
gram, Mr. C. E. Frye went to Portland
to meet Mrs. Frye's father, mother and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bridge and
daughter, Miss Keturah, who have come
from Logansport, Ind., to spend the
winter. The party arrived t Chemavva
Sunday just before noon. Mr. Bridge is
quite favorably impressed with what he
has seen of Oregon, both country and
climate, and if he continues satisfied
with the surroundings it is probable
that he will decide to locate nearby
Chemavva.
