Mr. and Mrs. Campbell returned from Portland on Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Teabo are spend ing their vacation at Grande Ronde. A number of the band boys have treated us to evening concerts. We ap preciate them. Patsy Loftus was among those who departed on Saturday for Wrangell, Alas ka. Good luck to Patsy. Miss Dohse is acting cook during the absence. of Mrs. Brewer, who is on her annual leave of absence. Geo. F. Kengott, Ph. D., of Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., was here recently on a visit to the school. Frank Souvigner, historian of this year's graduating class, has returned to his home in Cathlamet, Wash. Mrs. Brewer has gone to her Tacoma home to spend her vacation. She was accompanied home by her daughters, Miss Gertrude and Ruth. Miss Esther Napoleon, a member of our graduating class this year, has re turned to her ho:ne in Puyallup. She left many friends in Chemawa. Mr. Chas. E. Larsen, our assistant disciplinarian, who is on his annual leave of absence, came up from Portland on Monday to spend a day or two at . Chemawa. Miss Dollie Case, .a member of this year's graduating class, har returned to her home in Wrangell, Alaska. Sincere friends will always rejoice to hear from this talented girl.J ' ' '' Mr. andr.Mrs. Lancaster Spencer, of Toppenish, Wash., were here recently to visit their daughters. They brought with them another daughter, Esther, who has enrolled in the school. On Saturday Mary Loftus and Eleanor Lynch departed for their home in. Wran gell, Alaska. Many genuine friends here wTish them a happy visit and will give them a warm welcome on their return to school. On July 28, 1910, at the Espiscopal Rectory in Pendleton, Oregon, Miss Margaret Miller and Mr. Geo. E. Wells of La Grande, Oregon were united in marriage. Miss Miller at one time was a teacher in Chemawa and has the good wishes of friends here for a life of happiness. On the evening of August 2nd Supt. Chalcraft gave quite an exhibition of pictures, to the delight of visitors, em ployes and pupils A canvas was fixed up on the lawn near the bandstand and a splendid view was obtainable from both sidps of the canvas. It was an interesting exhibit. Bennie Wilcox, has gone for a vaca tion to his home in Ketchikan, Alaska; Reggie Downie left on Saturday for his home in Tacoma, Wash., and Jasper Grant, on the same date, took the boat from Portland for. his home in Eureka, Calif. All are printer boys, good bright fellows and we are pleased to state that all of them will return to continue school and their work in this office.
