The senior and junior classes are doing remarkably well in arithmetic this term. The beautiful wistaria vine at Mr. Campbell's cottage is very much ad mired. The motto of the Stnior Class is, "Steadfast and True' They have tried all year to live up to it. Mr. Joseph, Dillstrom is making a great success as industrial teacher. The grounds never looked so well. The concert given on Saturday even ing was one of the most enjoyable of the year. A number of visitors from Salem and the surrounding country attended it. Miss Irene Campbell and Miss Fannie Noble, who have been visiting in Spo kane, returned home on Friday evening. They were warmly welcomed by their many friends at the school. Frank Souvigner of the Senior Class gave the opening address at the debate last week. He spoke in an earnest and sincere manner encouraging both socie ties to put forth their best effort?, and congragulated the winning team in ad vance Hairy Jones, Amos Smoker and Orin French of the Senior Class, are receiving many compliments for the manner in which they carried on the debate on Thursday the 21st inst. These young men are excellent students and have been a credit to themselvec and their class during this entire school year. WOOD BUTCHERS. We have some roses in bloom around our department.
