The robins were with us in force Ust
week. It certainly is nice to look out
on our lawn and see so many robin red
breasts at a time when nearly the whole
country is frozen up.
The Albina Athletic Club basketball
team of Portland who played our boys
last Saturday were a fine gentlemanly
bunch of young men, and although de
feated by our boys were game to the
last.
The school was visited on last Saturday
by Miss White of Colville Reservation,
Washington. Miss White takes great in
terest in the Indian and is greatly inter
ested in the Y. W. C. A. work for our
Indian girls.
We hear that Dr. McChesney while at
Klamath left suddenly to take his son.
who was visiting him there and had con
tracted typhoid fever, to a sanitarium.
The Doctor has the sincere sympathy of
his many friends at Chemawa.
Wanted Two or three boys, not less
than 14 years of age, to learn the tailor
ing trade. Must work mornings and go
to school in the afternoons. When pre
pared, will be taught garment designing
for men, or women, or both if desired.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cox, formerly of
Leupp, Arizona, write that they like their

Miss Earlougher gets more enjoyment
than an one else out of this arctic weath
er. Her brisk "constitutionals'' morn

PHILOMATH VS. CHEMAWA.
On last Friday evening Chemawa
played the roughest bunch of ball-tossers
ever on our floor. They came from an
institution called a college by the name
of Philomath, a little institution outside
of Corvallis. Glowing over a fist fight
game that they had at Corvallis about a
week prior, they played the same kind
of a game at Chemawa. They were a
bunch of rowdies. They were awarded
the game by a score of 31 to 21. The
line-up was as follows:
