. Peter Seltice, Chief of the Copur
d'Alenes,by right of lineage and a inemb -r
of Chemawa's Class of 1907, quietly par
sed away on Thursday evening, Novem
ber 18, at his home surrounded by re
latives and friends. While here Peter
identified himself as a diligent and . un
tiring worker for the church as well as
the literary advancement, of his fellow -,
students, and for the betterment of the
young men of his race. Being possessed
of a jovial nature,'he svon the admira
tion and friendship of all who knew
him. After graduating from Chemawa
he pursued his studies at Willamette
University, but his health prevented his
continuing. The employes and students .
of this school extend sincere sympathy
to the bereft friends and relatives.

The innumerable caravan which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry -slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approached thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams. 1
