Newspaper Page Text8 THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN 1 pupils icems f "The boys are digging up their marbles again. We are all glad to-see football season begin again. The lawn looks very pretty around Mr." Wood's house. We were all glad to see Mamie Smith back in school again. We all enjoyed the lecture given by Doctor Lieurance Monday night. Grace Benjamin is expec'ing her neph ew, Lewis Baker, on a. visit next week. Elwood Towner found a potato that weighed four pountls and eleven ounces Dr. Lieurance gave us an interesting talk, on Monday evening. We, sixth grade girls, are glad to have, Ella Evans in school again after her ill ness. Miss Hazel A. Butler, one of the Hos pital girls, made a delicious pudding last week. We had a good lecture by the physi cian, Dr. Lieurance, last Monday and hope everybody enjoyed it. Miss Brown and her dress makers are glad because they will be through with . the uniforms this week. Dr. Lieurance who lectured to us on Sanitation 'Monday night expressed his regret at leaving Chemawa. The girls of the sewing room are very busy finishing tho uniforms for the girls that have just entered school. We are glad to see the football team out practicing. We hope that there will be a good and strong, team this year. Methods Circular No. 348 Photographs. Office of Indian Affairs, Washington, D. C. October 11, 1909. To Indian Superintendents: The office has established a file of photographs bearing on Indian life and objects and Indian agencies, reserva tions, and schools, and in order that it may be as complete as possible you are requested to send in such photos as may be obtainable without cost to the Gov ernment. In case a photo is published, the pub lisher should place his name and ad dress on the back of the photo as an ad vertisement to persons who might desire copies after seeing the original here. The subject and the dates of the photo graph should also appear, together with any other interesting facts relating there to; in most cases the value of ,Jhe picture depends largely on such explanatory data. It is thought that if the fact is known genera.ll that such a file is in existence here there will be no trouble in securing valuable material for the purpose. Very Respectfully, R. G. Valentine. Commissioner Mr. Kgan one of our neighbors who owns a large peach orchard near here visited the Senior Class Tuesday morning- Mr. Caisse1 little son Byron is a great favorite here. Such a bright interesting little fellow. We congratulate Mr. and Mrs Caisseon their little son's good manners.
