I notice that all the boys and girls
when they first come to Chemawa school
always feel lonesome for a while and
when they get acquainted with all the
boys and girls they begin to like Che
mawa, Alex Davis and Ffed Grant and I go
to work every morning and we quit work
every day at half past eleven and we
go and eat our dinner until twelve o'
clock and we go to school in the after
noon. This morning we went to work at the
paint shop. It was too rainy to paint
out side so we just cleaned up all the
buckets and paint brushes after we got
through with it George excused us.
Eleanor Lvnch is working in the sew
ing room for the first time and is mak
ing gingham dresses for the little girls
and says sh likes the work very well.
In a letter recently received from Ka
tie Henry, states that she may return to
Chemawa soon, for the purpose of learn- 1
more about Domestic Science.
Mr. Enrighand his detail are kept
busy fitting out the new boys who have
just entered the school with uniform and
school suits.
Alice Sam is one of Mrs. Fickle's best
sewers in the sewing room. Alice does
her work very nicely and is at work all
the time.
The carpenters are building a cover
to the porch of the cottage occupied by
Messrs. Swaboda and Van Tassel and
their families.
The friends of Grace Beaver are all
glad to hear that she will soon he back
to school after being home for a year.
The plumbers are kept busy this .
rainy weather, repairing leaks on the ra
diatorsin order to keep the rooms warm.
We are all glad that football season
has come again. The boys started to
practice Monday for this season.
We are glad to see our foot ball team -practicing
and soon will play games with
some High Schools this year.
After several days of illness, we are
all glad to have Annie Walker, back
with us in the sewing room.
The engineers ' and plumbers are busy
working in the well fixing a place for
the new pump.
Mrs. Mann has been kept busy by
the pupils taking pictures the last two or
three weeks.
, Alden Clark and Charlie Michel are
now working in the Harness shop and are
doing well.
We are all glad the football season
has begun. We ought to have a good team
this year.
Reg?ie Downie is working at the print
ing office. He is learning how to run the
big press. v
Leanora Rainville began taking mus
ic lessons last week and she is doing
nicely.
Adaline Lambert is taking music
lessons and is getting along very nicely.
Mary Boles is one of the : best dress
makers in the stwing room.
Frank Sorrel .is now working in the
blacksmith shop.
John Ammon is taking music lessons
on the violin.
