The farmers started to mow. clover on
Tuesday.
Harvey St. John is roof-cleaner for
Brewer Hall.
The farmers have nearly finished haul
ing baled hay to town.
Amos Smoker and Fred Lewis went
out to work on Tuesday.
Dennie Harnden and Ralph Allen
went to Salem on Tuesday.
Supt. Chalcraft has a lot of new
lantern slides for his electric lantern.
Roy Wilson and Roy Mclntyre, ex
farmers, are now working at the bear pit.
Mr. Cooper and his boys pulled a cow
out of the ditch at the lake on Monday.
Laura Wilson is now head cook at the
hospital while Mrs. Teabo is on her vaca
tion. Mrs. Chalcraft and children returned
from the Seattle Exposition last "Wednes
day. Thomas Case, who was quartermaster
at Mitchel Hall, is a great help on the
farm.
The tailors are working in the differ
ent departments during Mr. Enright's
absence.
The hospital boys make daily trips to
the river these days for exercise and
pleasure. .
Mr. Wellfeldt was busy Monday after
noon marking the kitcken's pans, buck
ets and tubs.
Cyril Morrisette improved the sound of
his violin by taking it apart and scrap
ing it lately.
Mr. Lansing and his partner were
busy repairing the north side of Brewer
Hall Tuesday. '
Tuesday morning Mr. Larsen gather
ed a detail of boys and gave the yard
a good cleaning.
Mr. Wellfeldt and his boys did some
painting on both the outside and inside of
the jail this week.
Mr. Van Tassel, with a couple of boys,
repacked the radiators in the school
building on Monday.
A windmill arrived at the school on
Friday and was hauled by the farmers
to its future location.
Roy Wilson, who was working on the
farm, took too many bridles apart and
Mr. Swartz fired him.
Cyril Morrisette is taking care of Mrs.
Teabo's and the school's poultry while
she is on her vacation.
Dennie Harnden, Ralph Allen and
Oscar Case were visitors at the open air
sanitarium on Tuesday.
Hiram Keogan is now running the
engine this week in the power house
and Elmer Henry is his fireman.
The wagonmakers have been busy
repairing the light wagon in which the
sewingroom girls went on their picnic.
Mr. Swartz had a narrow escape from
serious injury Wednesday morning he
was kicked by a horse, but not badly In
jured. Every morning after the doctor has
finished his work he gets his ball and
mit and goes out to take his exercise
playing ball.
Mr. A. J. Picard did a creditable job
at the picard place, this week, making a
shed for straw, which Ray and Louis are
hauling for winter use.
The hogs were turned loose in the
prune orchard to clean it of prunes
which have dried and fallen, so no trouble
will be had when it comes to picking the
ripe prunes.
