several days. , '

for commencement.

Mr. Campbell went to the Chautauqua
on Tuesday evening to look after the boys
there.
Mr. Herbert Campbell, who was ill
and came home to recuperate, has re
turned to Portland.
Joe Bittles has done fine work in the
second grade. His average is 84. We
are all interested in Joe's progress.
Mr. Frye and his boys have been
house cleaning during the week and dirt
is now at a premium in the wagonshop.
The band is very much missed. But
we are glad to know that Mr. Larsen's
programs at Chautauqua are so much
enjoyed.

use the students for the necessary prepar

Mr. Turney and his mandolin club
made an excellent impression in Wood
burn. The concert was highly spoken
of by the residents of that town. Mr.
Campbell and Mrs. Theisz accompanied
the club
: The Seniors had better get busy an d
see about their class pennant, which
has not yet been' made. The colors,
purple and gold, with the motto, "Vic
tory Labor's Crown," will make a very
pretty pennant.
The. choir finds the commencement
music very difficult. The Largo from
Xerxes by Handel takes pretty good
singing. We will do better when the
choir members who are with the band at
Chautauqua return.
A visit through the schoolrooms shows
thiit most of them are in excellent con
dition are neat and clean and decorat
ed with good taste. This is very help
ful to the pupils. A careless, untidy
room indicates careless, untidy habits.
Miss Irene Campbell is playing in the
State tennis tournament at Portland this
week. Miss Hotchkiss, the world's cham

. best players in the country are contend
ing for honors. The tournment is held
